When Did We Stop Living Close to Nature?
There was a time when happiness didn't depend on screens, notifications, or expensive experiences.
It was much simpler.
Our joy came from the little things.
Playing "Pakdam Pakdai" with friends until sunset,
Climbing trees without fear,
Plucking fresh fruits directly from branches,
Returning home covered in mud, only to be lovingly scolded by our mothers.
And somehow, those were the moments that made life feel complete.
If you grew up in those times, you probably remember them too.
Childhood Was Different Back Then
As children, we lived much closer to nature than we realize today.
We built imaginary houses using mud.
We played with old tyres, sticks, and whatever nature offered us.
We ran through fields, picked seasonal fruits, and spent entire afternoons outdoors.
Mosambi, sugarcane, jamun, mulberries, raw mangoes, carrots, radishes — nature wasn't something we visited occasionally.
It was simply a part of everyday life.
Our playground wasn't confined within four walls.
The whole world outside was our playground.
The Real Days of Childhood
Those were the days when evenings meant gathering with friends for a game of football, cricket, badminton, or basketball.
There were no smartphones.
No social media feeds.
No endless scrolling.
Just real conversations, real friendships, and real experiences.
Mornings often began with grandparents sharing stories, life lessons, and simple daily rituals.
Many families still followed natural practices like using Neem datoon as part of their oral care routine.
Without realizing it, we were learning to live in harmony with nature.
It was a life far away from digital distractions and much closer to what truly mattered.
What Changed?
Returning to Our Roots
We may not be able to relive our childhood.
But we can bring back some of the values that made those years so special.
Spending more time outdoors,
Following simple wellness rituals,
Choosing natural alternatives whenever possible,
Living a little slower,
And reconnecting with nature, even in small ways.
Because sometimes, moving forward begins by returning to our roots.
And perhaps, that's exactly what many of us are searching for today 😇

Recently, I found myself thinking about those childhood memories.
And I realized something.
Life may have become more convenient today, but convenience has come at a price.
Today, almost everything is available instantly.
Food can be delivered in minutes,
Entertainment is available 24/7,
Technology has made life easier in countless ways...
But somewhere along the journey, we lost something invaluable.
We lost our connection with nature.
The Cost of Convenience
Modern life has given us comfort, speed, and endless choices.
Yet many people today feel more stressed, disconnected, and overwhelmed than ever before.
Perhaps this is why so many people are now seeking simpler ways of living.
They are returning to traditional wellness practices, spending more time outdoors, choosing natural alternatives, and trying to reconnect with the rhythms of nature.
Not because they want to go backwards.
But because they want balance.
